'Tween HomeSchool Meetups, Co-Op, Extracurricular Events

Location:

Low Country

Description:

'Tweens (age 9 to 14) are in a unique age group and we saw a need for meetups specifically for them! They still want to play, explore and have fun... but yet want to flex their independence a bit with their peers. The goal of this group is to connect home school 'tweens, fostering space for relationships to grow and to support friendships that are built with time.
We will plan to have regularly scheduled "meetups" of popular activities at the same locations so kids can feel comfortable to explore the area and build familiarity with each other.
If you are the organizer of the activity, try to have something red to notify people where to meet.... red shirts, red balloons, red construction paper....
Original members of this group are located on James Island, but friends from all over town are welcome to attend meetups.

Beaufort/Bluffton Homeschool Hike & Explore

Location:

Low Country

Description:

This is a weekly meet up group for homeschool moms and kids to hike and explore nature in the Okatie, Beaufort, Port Royal, Ridgeland, Bluffton areas. Some days we will do “field trips” and explore beyond this radius.
This group is affiliated with Wild + Free, who's desire is to give children a quality education but also to preserve the adventure, freedom and wonder of childhood. This isn’t your typical play date group. The goal is to consistently meet up for children to foster meaningful relationships while being “wild + free” and for moms to get to know each other, build relationships and encourage one another in our homeschooling journeys. This group will be focused towards primarily school-aged children but younger siblings are welcome to come.

Charleston County is welcome to join as well if you're willing to drive. 😉 Each month or two months a book will be chosen for the different age groups. Each participant will read the book for the month and then we meet at a local park to discuss the book and maybe do a corresponding activity. Volunteers needed for leading these groups! 🙂

Welcome to For The Boys, a faith based homeschool group for those wild + wonderful boys. This group is for ages 7-10 and meets Fridays at 11 am in Charleston, SC & surrounding areas. We do plan to tap into other things happening on other days as they pop up. We plan to visit different places around the lowcountry together that give our boys a chance to bond + explore + just be boys. No drop offs. Sorry siblings, to keep the group small and focused, unless their brother is of the group required age, we ask that you opt out of this one. We attend an all welcome weekly park day meetup on Mondays in Summerville, SC that we’d love to meet everyone else at.
